Rocker Jay Reatard has been found dead at his Memphis home, it has been confirmed.
Rollingstone.com reported Reatard died on January 13 at 3.30am in his sleep. He was 29.
"We are devastated by the death of Jimmy Lee Lindsey Jr, aka Jay Reatard," Reatard's record label Matador said in a statement.
"Jay was as full of life as anyone we've ever met, and responsible for so many memorable moments as a person and artist.
"We’re honoured to have known and worked with him, and we will miss him terribly."
Reatard released the critically acclaimed album Watch Me Fall last year, and he had worked with Beck, The Pixies and Sonic Youth.
