Iconic British dub-dance act Massive Attack will play a single New Zealand show in March.

The band, known for bass-riddled albums like Mezzanine and 100th Window and helping to pioneer trip-hop in the '90s, will perform at Auckland's Vector Arena on March 25.

Martina Topley-Bird will also be performing.

Massive Attack cancelled their last scheduled show in New Zealand in 2003 when front man Robert Del Naja was arrested in Britain in connection with allegations over internet pornography and possession of class A drugs.

Pre-sale tickets are released on January 22 and come with a digital copy of the band's new album Heligoland.

They then go on sale to the general public on February 4.

Any time a good band like ma comes up is worth seeing. And i thought coming to akld is like a larger wellington with more hot people to look at.

Hey Sophia I think you need to be registered with Ticketmaster to get the presale tickets. So it sucks but I will get the album when it comes out. I've heard the new tracks and they are awesome, quite haunting. Basically its already been youtubed thanks to the pirate guys who just cant wait to spoil it for everyone else! Massive Attack are amazing live, I saw them in Dublin back in 2003 and blew me away, their live show really sets them different to the studio albums!

Hmmm wunder who the vocalists will be on this tour????? Particularly the female singers.

There is NO venue here in Wellington. TSB is rubbish, they wouldnt full Westpak and the town hall only holds about 2000. Its a shame the town hall is so small because the Town hall is one of the best venues I have ever been in. Perhaps with the price they could use it. From memory the Arctic Monkeys where $80 for the WTH?

Great band bu I have to say it,

.... Mothers, lock up your babbys

Yea it's expensive and annoying getting up to Auckland. However, Its even more expensive and annoying for them to come to Wellington. The only reason they don't plan more shows is that everything costs to much, like sipping all the speakers and whatnot around. It's just too much money

Hi NZ, first and foremost - ALL charges against Robert del Naja were dropped as there was no case to answer. Shame MA are only playing in Auckland. Maybe someone could organise a (NZ facebook?) petition to let them know how welcome they would be in Wellington (like the Rage Against the Machine / X Factor facebook petition in UK?). Anyway, hope you enjoy MA. It will undoubtedly be a great show (it always is).
