Orlando Bloom is "really excited" about becoming a father.
The 33-year-old actor married Australian model Miranda Kerr last month after a four-week engagement. There had been rumours the pair wed so quickly because Miranda, 27, was pregnant and she has now confirmed she is expecting the couple's first child.
Orlando, who is currently in Munich filming The Three Musketeers, is thrilled by the news, and is already busily planning how to maximise the time he spends with Miranda over the coming months.
"I'll go home as often as possible. I'm really excited about it, it's great," Orlando gushed. "She'll come out here too."
Miranda revealed her baby news in an interview with Spanish Vogue.
"Yes, I'm pregnant," she said. "Four months along."
The catwalk star also admitted it had been difficult to keep her pregnancy a secret. Soon after she discovered she was expecting a baby she began suffering from morning sickness and this took its toll on her work schedule.
"I remember on one occasion in the early days [of my pregnancy] when it was still too soon to say anything, and I had a dreadful time at one job," she explained.
Orlando and Miranda started dating in 2007.
