Kings of Leon say they don't care if their new album isn't a success, because they have already made so much money.

The American indie rock band claim to have taken a risk with Come Around Sundown, but insist they are happy with the material even if it isn't a commercial hit. The rockers played new tracks including Mary, Radioactive and Southbound at the V music festival in the UK over the weekend, and were pleased with the reaction from the crowd.

Kings of Leon believe their latest tracks will give their newer fans a taste of what they have been trying to achieve for years.

"We're already plenty rich, we don't need it. We're like thousand-aires, multiple thousands, multiple," frontman Caleb Followill told Absolute Radio. "This record has got a little bit of every record we've ever made to this point.

"And all the people that only know us from the last record - which is quite a few people - we wanted to show them a little bit of our background and the kind of music that we've been trying to make all the while."

The group are thrilled their last album Only by the Night - which featured hits including Sex on Fire and Use Somebody - was such a success because they spent many hours working on the tracks and then promoting them.

"We consider ourselves a pretty hard-working band and, you know, not too idle for long and it's paid off," he added.

Come Around Sundown is due for release next month.
