Aucklander Zoe Fleury (a.k.a Zowie) is a music obsessive, drumming wunderkind and self-proclaimed bionic pixie beamed down from the year 3000, bursting into the New Zealand music scene in 2010 with the gold selling hit single Broken Machine.

It resonated around the world, garnering rave reviews from the prestigious New York Times, Perez Hilton and MTV Iggy among others.

In March last year Zowie toured with Mark Ronson and The Business and, in May, she joined Katy Perry on her Australasian California Dreams Tour.

Her single, Smash It, featured on the ABC TV mystery series Pretty Little Liars.

Since her emergence, Zowie has worked meticulously on her debut album, teaming up with the likes of Lee Groves (Goldfrapp, No Doubt), Jimmy Harry (Madonna, Pink, Oh Land,), Johnny Severin Powers (Lady Gaga), Henrik Jonback (Britney Spears, Miike Snow), Alexander Kronlund (Britney, Robyn, The Knife), Jonas Quant (No Doubt, Hurts, Kylie Minogue) and Death From Above/1979’s Sebastian Granger.

The result is a musical playground of industrial pop, electronic hip-hop, and punk, where eclectic beats dance to distorted guitars and slick chants.

Of her debut album Zowie points to Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust as one of her inspirations: “I didn’t want it to be a typical music project…I’m always looking to do something different from my peers”.

On Love Demolition, which will be released tomorrow, Zowie puts her all of her superpowers to the test and we'll give you the chance to listen to it first.
