One of the most original sounds of pop music in recent times, Ellie Goulding, will play her first New Zealand show in Auckland in October.
Goulding famously sang a cover of Elton John's Your Song during the royal wedding last year as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge enjoyed their first dance as husband and wife.
Her Auckland show on October 26 will showcase her second album Halcyon due to be released on October 12.
UK-based Goulding, who has been spending considerably more time in the US recently, has described her new offering as an "experimental break-up album".
Goulding has said that after her break-up with BBC Radio 1 DJ Greg James she was inspired to write "sad" emotive songs.
Goulding rose to prominence in 2010 when she topped the BBC Sound of 2010 poll and won the Brit Awards Critics Choice Award, becoming only the second artist (after Adele in 2008) to scoop both these awards in the same year.
Her debut album Lights went straight to number one in the UK and garnered the hit singles Starry Eyed, Under the Sheets and Guns and Horses.
