The Cure will play one show in Auckland this July
It's only Thursday but we're in love already, because The Cure have just announced they're coming to New Zealand.
We've waited nearly a decade since they last came our way and now they're heading back this July for one show only.
The 80s gloom-rock band are set to embark on an extensive tour of the US, and their first major European tour since 2008, and they've just been announced as headliners at Aussie festival Splendour in the Grass.
The 2016 line up will be fronted by the band's much loved singer Robert Smith, who will be accompanied by Simon Gallup on bass, Jason Cooper on drums, Roger O'Donnell on the keys and Reeves Gabrels on guitar.
Famed for their two-hour long sets, these guys have nearly 40 years' worth of hits to stack their set with and you can expect to hear all the hits as well as a few rarities and even unreleased tracks.
The Cure will play one show at Auckland's Vector Arena, on July 21.
Tickets go on sale at midday, Friday April 22, with a Spark and My Live Nation pre-sales taking place on April 18 and April 20 respectively.
