A dancing toddler's smooth moves stole the limelight at his dad's New Year's Eve gig in Texas and are quickly becoming an internet sensation.

American country music singer and self-described YouTube performer Coffey Anderson was singing in the town of Irving when his young son Ethan ran on to the stage. After pausing briefly to hug his father, Ethan soon started busting out dance moves to a cover of Van Morrison's Brown Eyed Girl.

Clad in an oversized white tee, Nike high-top sneakers and a dummy, Ethan clapped, danced and stamped in-front of the crowd.

Anderson posted the video to his Facebook page on January 4, saying:

"I was playing onstage and my little boy, who dances when I play guitar at home, got away from the backstage and stormed the stage.

"First he hugged me and then he danced like he was free!"

Yesterday - after the video was featured by media outlets worldwide - Anderson posted another message: "My 'Dancing Baby Video' made the Huffington Post today.

"Thank y'all for sharing this. It's fun to see my little guy getting publicity for being a kid."

Those who saw the video were quick to weigh in with praise, writing:

"Oh my! That has to be one of the CUTEST things I have EVER seen!!!" and "I love this! He's so cute! And he's got crazy rhythm!!! A star is born."

The video has had more than 190,000 hits on GodTube since it was posted several days ago.
