Singer-songwriter Anna Coddington has been exploring new horizons as a DJ.

''It's been fun, another string to the bow and an income stream is always good,'' Coddington says.

She and her best friend Kara Rickard play 80s and 90s pop and R&B under the moniker DJs Such n Such.

''We're actually getting OK at DJing but mostly it's just about playing tunes that people secretly love even though they don't want to admit it. Also it's about dressing in lolz 80s clothes.''

Coddington is working on different musical projects the first of which is a single, Noise Control, under the band name Street Neighbourz.

''It's me and my neigbour Jason Smith.  It kind of has an 80s flavour to it, Coddington says.

''We used to just have jams and then one day we decided to write a song together. I had recorded a beat track on my iPhone and we just added lots and lots of things to it.  It came together pretty quickly.  We grabbed any instrument that was at hand and ended up with a song we have called Noise Control.

''It's almost like a concept band.  We decided Street Neighbourz would be all about living in our neighbourhood.  So the first song is about having a party where you invite all the neighbours along so nobobody calls noise control because everybody is at the party.''

''We are just going to throw it out there and see what happens.  We just want to keep it fun.

Coddington also has several other surprising collaborations up her sleeve but can't go into detail yet.

''Everything is a new direction for me at the moment,'' she says.
