Justin Bieber has taken a swipe at a Black Keys member for saying he did not deserve a Grammy.

The drummer of the band, Patrick Carney, told gossip site TMZ Bieber should be satisfied simply by earning a lot of money.

"He's rich, right?" said Carney.

"Grammys are for, like, music, not for money. He's making a lot of money. He should be happy."

Bieber hit back via twitter, saying "the black keys drummer should be slapped around haha."

The Black Keys won Best Rock Song at this year's Grammy awards for "Lonely Boy."

Justin Beiber was not nominated for a single award.
