The Mockers announce 30-year reunion tour
Kiwi legends The Mockers are reforming for the first time in 30 years for a reunion tour.
The Forever Tuesday Morning hit-makers perform nine shows around the country in January, 2017.
The band rode to New Wave pop success in the 1980s, playing to huge crowds across the country and reaching three Top 10 albums.
The reunion will also serve as a tribute to drummer Steve Thorpe, who passed away in 1986.
"This reunion tour is a great chance for the band to reconnect from all corners of the globe after so long apart, and share the Mockers songs with the very supportive fan base throughout New Zealand," says vocalist Andrew Fagan.
Original guitarist Brett Adams returns for the tour, as well as bass player Geoff Hayden and keyboard maestro Tim Wedde.
Stepping in on drums is Chris O'Connor from the Phoenix Foundation.
The band are set to revisit their greatest hits including Forever Tuesday Morning, Swear It's True, One Black Friday, My Girl Thinks She's Cleopatra, and Shield Yourself.
Special guests for all North Island shows are electro-pop three-piece Delete Delete - featuring members of Stellar* and Elemeno P.
Christchurch does not feature on the official tour, but The Mockers will also headline the Great Kiwi Beer Fest in Hagley Park on Saturday, January 28.
Tickets for all shows go on sale at midday on Tuesday, October 25.
