It's the performance everyone wants to forget, but can't.

Now you too can look like Miley Cyrus when she infamously grinded a foam finger and twerked Robin Thicke at the MTV Video Music Awards last week.

Just follow Christchurch man David Correos' instructions.

In a short YouTube video, which has gone viral, Correos explains some quick and simple steps to replicate Cyrus' look.

He advises, deadpan, using electrical tape to strap some balls on your head and then covering the "groin region and your bosoms" in glad wrap.

As Correos says: "Miley didn't wear much at the VMAs", so it doesn't take too much imagination to transform yourself.

Since being posted on Thursday, the hilarious video has garnered more than 500,000 views and gained coverage in US Metro mag, on Reddit.com and a number of Australian news sites.

The up and coming comedian has a Facebook page and YouTube channel dedicated to his brand of humour, in which he also teaches people how to dress as a panda and implores Michael Buble to come to New Zealand.
