All eyes outside Auckland's Langham Hotel are pointed in - you guessed it - One Direction.
About 70 "directioners" (all girls) are braving the weather in the hopes of catching a glimpse of their pop idols who are understood to have flown in to Auckland about 1am.
The crowd are waiting patiently behind a fan barrier, occasionally breaking into sing-alongs of One Direction songs but for the most part, contenting themselves with readying their cameras and texting each-other.
The UK boy band - Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson - is playing two shows in Auckland tomorrow and Sunday.
Maxine Barrowman, 16, and Nikita Cribb, 15, said they had been outside the luxury hotel since about 8.30am.
Though they had not made any sightings themselves, "apparently someone saw Niall earlier".
Maxine said she was most excited about seeing Zayn, while Nikita chose Harry.
Asked what they thought the scene would be like if the boys did appear, Maxine said: "I'm not a screamer. I'll just start laughing... and then maybe cry."
Ten-year-olds Katy and Eva also opted for Harry Styles, with their mum Debbie pin-pointing his appeal - "it's because he's good-looking".
Debbie said they came down after seeing the crowd on breakfast television and they were going to the One Direction movie later in the day.
"We are the ones who have made them famous, they should just come down and say hello," she said.
