Shortland Street brings OpShop song back to life

Shortland Street's 25th anniversary episode has put Kiwi band Opshop back on the charts.

The soap used the song One Day in their final montage of the 90-minute episode.

The song released in 2007 had appeared on the iTunes single charts today at number 21.

One Day was played to end the episode after a volcano erupted, devastating Ferndale. 
Fans responded well to the song, several tweeting that it was perfect for for the emotional montage.

Frontman Jason Kerrison pursued a solo career in 2015.
