Kiwi singing superstar Lorde and Kiwi basketball star Steven Adams appear to have a mutual appreciation society going.

The two showed each other some proud Kiwi support, when the singer went to his basketball game - and the player went to her gig in Chicago.

Adams, who plays for the Oklahoma City Thunder, tweeted that it was "awesome" meeting the double-Grammy-winning singer. He shared a photo of him, at 2.13m tall, towering over the songstress backstage.

 

For Lorde, the encounter was a sweet thing, as she posted a photo of herself with a recognisable Kiwi chocolate brand, saying "you are the best. good luck on ze court!"

 

Adams was quoted by The Oklahoman as saying: “She’s real cool, just a chilled-out chick.” 

"She was going through what I was going through, it being weird meeting people who’ve got a name but you don’t actually know about them. Then you have a chat and you’re like, ‘Oh that’s (such and such).’

Adams got to hang out with Lorde and her band for a bit on Tuesday at the concert and was clearly still excited about the experience when describing it a day later, the Oklahoman reported.

“The drummer and the piano guy are funny,” Adams said. “They’re cool.”
