Nineties teenage boywonders Hanson are back and have announced their first New Zealand show.

The trio, comprising brothers Isaac (guitar, piano, vocals), Taylor (keyboards, piano, guitar, drums, vocals) and Zac  (drums, piano, guitar, vocals), will play a show at Auckland's Powerstation on 17 August.

Hanson, who earned world-wide fame with their 1997 hit song MMMBop are releasing their sixth album Anthem on 4 April. The brothers list their influences for the new record as ranging from from James Brown, to early Michael Jackson and AC/DC. 

Last year marked the 21st anniversary of Hanson and the band celebrated the anniversary with the launch of their own craft beer Mmmhops.

Tickets go on sale on 9 April.
