18 MONTHS
Calvin Harris
(Sony)

Sounding more like a chart-toppers' compilation of the past year and a half, superstar Scottish DJ Calvin Harris' third full-lengther simply reminds those fist-pumping, neon-grunge, mosh-floor regulars that what they've been pogo-ing to recently is all from the mind of the one man.

His Kelis, Rihanna, Florence Welch, Dizzee Rascal, Ellie Goulding and Example collaborations have already hit stratospheric heights and, if they all sound a little similar, remember they're designed for lasar-washed 2am gurning crescendos rather than mid-afternoon tea breaks.

If your heading beachwards for sunset parties with friends who'll last til doomsday, this is exactly the sort of ephemeral summer soundtrack which will make it feel like it will last for ever.
