TV Pick of the Week: August 23 to 29
Sunday , 8pm
It's fantastic to see sisters Lynda and Jools Topp back with a second season of their culinary series Topp Country – a show about real food and the people who produce it – think pikelets and pies, rather than blinis and tartlets.
Each episode of the series is based around the phrase "for the love of…" and first off the block is "For The Love of Goat", with the twins visiting a Kaikoura family who make goats' cheese and a couple from Jamaica with a famous goat curry recipe.
Lynda and Jools are witty, clever, kind and enthusiastic hosts who get the best out of the food producers they visit and it's clear that the pair are passionate about food. And not only eating it – they care about food politics and the way we grow, farm and hunt too.
Of course, it wouldn't be a Topp Twin production if there wasn't guitars, and each episode features an intimate performance as the pair "sing for their supper". Plus, look out for favourite characters like The Bowling Ladies and Ken and Ken.
Perfect Sunday night telly.
