Former Neighbours' star Craig McLachlan's new show Restoration headed for Sky
Craig McLachlan's new sci-fi thriller will make its debut on Sky TV's specialist channel The Zone later this year.
The former Neighbours star is part of the ensemble cast for the 50-minute TV movie Restoration.
Set in a near-future world where humans have their memories downloaded for backup via a new and dangerous technology, it tells the story of a man, Oliver Klein (Grant Cartwright), who awakes after a routine backup with his memories restored into a body that is not his own.
Sky TV's head of acquisitions, entertainment and movies Lisa Clements says Zone viewers "love nothing more than a great story to sink their teeth into".
"Restoration is a clever premise with a great cast so it is a good fit for The Zone."
Restoration's producers Toby Gibson and Simon de Bruyn have also negotiated a deal with Virgin Australia, with the film set to screen from next month on its domestic and international inflight entertainment platform, which includes flights between Australia and New Zealand.
These deals follow Restoration's Australian primetime premiere earlier this month.
