Behemoth team leader Ant storms off the set of Robot Wars after his team loses to the youthful team Cherub.

A British man has become an internet villain after throwing a tantrum when his Robot Wars team lost to a group of children.

In a recent episode of the BBC show Robot Wars - in which teams battle each other with home-built fighting robots - Ant of team Behemoth stormed off set following his team's loss to team Cherub.

Three of Cherub's four members are children, while Behemoth is made up entirely of grown men.

When the teams battled, however, it was youth rather than experience who carried the day, despite Behemoth predicting an easy victory.

Cherub won after the match went to judge's decision. Behemoth's loss has been attributed to the team's decision to swap out their robot's front flipper for an experimental grabber.

It was a decision team leader Ant disagreed with from the get-go, and he made his displeasure known by storming off set after Cherub's victory was announced.

Host Angela Scanlon remarked: "We lost someone. Is he a tad upset?"

Ant later explained that he walked off because he was angry at his team mates for deciding to experiment in such a crucial match.

"Putting a grabber of that type onto the robot for a critical match was a very poor decision," he said.

"The main reason I walked out there was because I was so annoyed with the rest of the team for making that decision, not to go with a guaranteed win.

"Sometimes it's best to use what you know works."
