Bachelor NZ Zac Franich promises there will be no repeat of last year
Ahead of Sunday night's finale of the reality TV show, Zac Franich is promising there will be no repeat of last year's shambles when the Bachelor dumped the winner within hours of the series ending.
Franich won't reveal who wins, but says the relationship will last even after the cameras turn away.
Asked if his relationship with the yet-to-be-announced winner was real, Franich promised he wouldn't call it off as soon as the finale aired on Sunday.
"We're not going to get to Monday, and then I'll be like 'hey, surprise, by the way no!' It's good. We're just kind of starting back at square one, really," he said.
Last year's winner Jordan Mauger famously dumped his chosen winner, Fleur Verhoeven, within 48 hours of the finale.
Bachelor finalist Lily McManus has moved to Auckland, where Franich lives, since the show finished filming about two weeks ago.
Franich shrugged when Stuff asked him if McManus had moved to Auckland to be with him. "You'll have to wait and see," he said with a smile.
Asked if he was aware McManus was living in Auckland, Franich responded saying "well, what do you think? I'll let you guys figure that one out." He confirmed he had been speaking with McManus after she moved to Auckland.
Franich tried his absolute hardest to give away no spoilers about Sunday night's episode, but said he was happy with the woman he had chosen.
"Right now, we're in a really good space and I'm really keen to see where that goes."
The final two bachelorettes are Lily McManus and Viarni Bright.
