Simon Barnett just wants to move on from the prank story.

Simon Barnett and his More FM co-hosts are keen to move on after being the butt of The Edge's Tom Cruise prank.

Barnett and his co-host Samantha Baxter were upset after The Edge hosts Jay-Jay and Dom Harvey and Clinton Randell pranked them by organising an interview for Barnett with a Tom Cruise impersonator – and telling him it was the real actor.

Barnett, a huge Cruise fan, was stunned almost into silence when The Edge hosts came on air for the reveal, while Baxter broke down in tears.

During the weekend, Baxter posted on the Si and Gary Facebook page to say the team wanted to move on from the incident.

"Things were very raw on air yesterday morning we were embarrassed, but feeling a lot better now! As Simon said we are really keen to move on from this and find the real Tom Cruise," she said.

Barnett was back on air with co-host Gary McCormick on Monday morning. He said he'd had a "quiet weekend, nothing going on."

"I'd prefer my name was kept out of any conversations for the next 48 hours."

Listeners were split on the prank, with some accusing The Edge of workplace bullying while others argued it was harmless fun.

Jay-Jay Harvey took to Facebook to publicly apologise to Barnett over the prank. The Edge hosts are on a two-week holiday, with the station filling in time with a medley of their greatest hits.
