Simon Barnett's entrance into the Mission Impossible BMW was not as graceful as his screen idol Tom Cruise's.

He might not have met Tom Cruise, but Simon Barnett's been treated to the next best thing.

The More FM radio host was given a Mission: Impossible BMW sports car to take for a spin for 24 hours.

Barnett has been in the headlines in the past few days after he was on the receiving end of a cruel prank from The Edge colleagues Jay-Jay and Dom Harvey and Clinton Randell.

The Edge team tricked Barnett - and his More FM producer Sam Baxter - into thinking he was interviewing Cruise.

However, they came on air at the end of the segment to reveal Barnett had spent 15 minutes speaking with a Cruise impersonator - not the real thing.

Barnett was lost for words while producer Baxter could be heard sobbing into the microphone. Online comments have savaged the Harveys over the prank, with one suggesting they should be "king hit" in the street.

Jay-Jay Harvey has apologised to Barnett.

In footage posted on the More FM website, Barnett seemed to be well and truly over the Cruise upset.

However, he may need to work on his action star moves after his awkward entry into the BMW sports car was filmed.

Barnett thought he had the technique for entering the low vehicle down pat after watching Cruise do it on screen, but he found it was harder than it looks when he couldn't get his legs in.
