Radio New Zealand has announced Wallace Chapman will be the new host for its Sunday morning programme.

He replaces Chris Laidlaw, whose last show is tomorrow, and will begin early in the New Year.

Chapman has been a breakfast host on Auckland's 95bFM and KiwiFM and a presenter on talk station Radio Live.

He also presented the politics show Back Benches on TVNZ7.

Laidlaw has presented the Sunday morning show for more than a decade.

He announced his decision to retire after being elected to both the Greater Wellington Regional Council and the Capital and Coast District Health Board.
