Nicole Scherzinger has reportedly been offered nearly $5 million to return to X Factor UK.

The former Pussycat Dolls frontwoman has served as a judge on the series since 2011.

According to UK's Sunday People, X Factor boss Simon Cowell is so determined to get her back for another season, he's offering her double her salary for the previous year.

"Simon absolutely loves Nicole. She is his perfect judge," a source said.

"He is getting in quick because he doesn't want to lose her to other commitments she has. Money is no object to Simon on this one. He is ready to throw whatever he has to at her.

The salary would apparently make Nicole the highest paid judge on the show.

Apparently Simon doesn't mind spending the money after the pop star nearly pulled out of the series during her last negotiations.

"He knows that he almost didn't get her last year because of various different reasons but he won't be making that mistake again," the insider continued.

"He will break the bank to keep her for a third series. He knows that if he can then he has a very good X Factor series later this year."

News of the negotiations follows after Nicole signed a lucrative contract with Sony to release a solo album in the summer of 2014.

While Nicole will be busy with her own projects when X Factor auditions get underway, the star is said to be looking forward to returning to the programme.

"Nicole loves Simon and the X Factor. To her, they are family, particularly as they are in the UK where she doesn't have her own family," the insider said.

"The problem for her is whether or not she will genuinely be able to spare the time for the auditions. She is happy to work with Simon to find a solution to this."
