Michael J Fox show cancelled
Actor Michael J Fox's eponymous show has been cancelled, but he apparently won't have time to ponder the bad news.
Michael has signed a deal to reprise his role as lawyer Louis Canning in hit show The Good Wife starring Julianna Margulies, TV Line reports.
Rumours of his return were bubbling last month at the Television Critics Association winter press tour.
"We're trying to make that work," Good Wife co-creator Robert King told reporters of Michael's possible return.
"Because he finished filming [The Michael J Fox Show], so it looks like we're going to get a chance to get him back."
The Michael J Fox Show was pulled from NBC's schedule this week and its Thursday night slot replaced by Hollywood Game Night, according to Vulture.
Only 15 of the show's first 22 episodes had aired.
NBC Chairman Robert Greenblatt admitted at the TCA press tour he wasn't happy with the show's ratings.
"We're still going to work hard to see what we can do on Thursday nights, but it's a real uphill battle," he said.
"It's hard to launch comedy even in the best of circumstances, so I guess I would say I'm more weary. It just means we have to work harder. Comedy is hard."
The Good Wife is scheduled to resume airing in the US on March 9.
