Alison Pugh will be replacing Toni Street as TV ONE's Breakfast co-host, TVNZ announced today.

The ONE News reporter will join Rawdon Christie from 6am on Monday, TVNZ head of news and current affairs John Gillespie said.

"She is a big asset to our news team as a reporter, and now has proved she has what it takes to front Breakfast," he said.

Pugh said in a statement that she was looking forward to her new role in "one of the best jobs in the business".

Street has left Breakfast to join Seven Sharp.
