American marines forced a captured Saddam Hussein to repeatedly watch the South Park movie, which shows him as gay and the boyfriend of Satan.

Creators of the animated series and film, Matt Stone and Trey Parker, were also given a signed photo of the Iraqi leader by US soldiers, says the UK's Telegraph newspaper.

Stone, 37, said both he and Parker, 39, were proud of the photo, given to them by the US Army's 4th Infantry Division.

He said: "We're very proud of our signed Saddam picture and what it means. It's one of our biggest highlights.

"I have it on pretty good information from the marines on detail in Iraq that they showed Saddam the movie.

"Over and over again - which is a pretty funny thought. That's really adding insult to injury."

The show, now in its 13th series, satirises a wide range of topics, including religion, sexuality and mental illness and has won a number of awards including three Emmys for Outstanding Animated Programme.

Recent episodes have seen Barack Obama using his Presidential victory as a way to steal jewels from Washington in an Oceans 11-style heist.

It also recently depicted the United States Treasury as deciding economic measures by cutting the head off a chicken and letting it run on a game show style board, landing on a decision.

So what. I watched six seasons of the Gilmore Girls just because my wife wanted me to watch it with her. Bad movies or TV isn't torture, most of us subject ourselves to it every night. Get some perspective. And for the idiots carrying on about the character of American troops, how many have you met? I have served with them in the middle east and I can tell you that 99% of them would be among the best people you could meet. But saying Americans are evil seems to be the trendy thing these days doesn't it? It doesn't require any critical thought about your opinions, just say America is bad and everyone in the room will feel compelled to nod their head sagely in agreement.

oh my god! how could these nasty americans do such a terrible act on such a lovable misunderstood nice guy Yeah Right! I say BOMB the whole lot back into the stone age because PC is gonna be the death of us anyway so we might as will have a bit of fun first. And yes i love south park its a satire,it has a point, its very clever and i can think of worse movies Saddam could of been made to watch, anyone seen Yentl?

This is pretty juvenile. Also, killing is killing and murder is murder. Don't try to weigh innocence by attaching a body count to it. Innocent people died at the hands of both sides.

Ryan (#15). I agree with you that showing him the film was far from noble and not particularly constructive. However your claim that Saddam has a lower body count than the US in Iraq is absurd at best. Chemical weapons killing a couple of hundred thousand Kurds, anyone?

I find it hard to believe that Matt and Trey cared that much about Saddam's enemies, but I guess they did. Or do they have some other reason... ?

Americians... Why havn't these troops been fined or something? They don't have the right to force someone to watch this sort of rubbish over and over. Even if it was Saddan! Not funny at all.. just shows why Americians are not respected the world over.
