The winner of New Zealand's Next Top Model hasn't yet been named, but the network behind the hit show is already seeking registrations for season two.

Next Top Model - the final of which screens on Friday at 7.30pm - has been so successful TV3 is asking  modelling wannabes who want to audition for the show's second season to pre-register on its website.

The finalists for the current season - Christobelle Grierson-Ryrie, Hosanna Horsfall and Laura Scaife - were whittled down from more than 1000 competitors who auditioned for the show late last year.

The trio competed in one final photo shoot and a runway competition, before facing judges Sara Tetro, Colin Mathura-Jeffree and Chris Sisarich one last time.

The final was believed to have been filmed as recently as this week in a bid to avoid details from the show being leaked.

The winner receives a contract with 62 Model Management, a one-year contract with CoverGirl cosmetics, an eight page editorial in Cleo magazine, an all expenses paid trip to Sydney to meet with Ursula Huffnagle of Chic Model Management, and a trip to New York to meet with Next Model Management.

The three finalists are a mixed bunch.

Christobelle Grierson-Ryrie is the daughter of former model and prominent Auckland businesswoman Josephine Grierson, and has been a favourite from the start - despite being just 16 years old.

Wellington resident Laura Scaife, 20, underwent the biggest transformation during the show's makeover segment. She has been the frontrunner but crumbled under pressure in later episodes.

Hosanna Horsfall, 20, from Gisborne, is the girl thought least likely to win. She struggled to make friends in the Top Model house, and was told by an expert in Los Angeles she was too short to be a model.

The show is the first New Zealand adaptation on the successful American format, hosted by Tyra Banks, which is in its 12th season.

HOSANNA SHOULD OF WON!!! She worked so hard for it and deserved it the most. She was the most beautiful and mature, who didn't get intimidated by cattiness. Im not biased because I live in Kapiti, but I reckon the judges were bribed or something. UUUUuuggghhhhhh!!!! You judges don't want a girl who's good looking but one who looks weird. Different is great but different on the pretty side is better.

Tyra would of never made such a mistake, after all, the original 'Next Top Model' Show was created by her. Why does New Zealand Have to embarrass it's self with Lame spin offs? eg New Zealand Idol. Probably because we're such a small country.

Woohoo! Christobelle won! Picked her from the start, she's amazing and I'm sure she'll do us proud :)

Christobelle will probably win and Hosanna will come 2nd. Laura dosn't even deserve to come 3rd maybe she should come 1,000,000th(if that's possible)Rebecca-Rose'es eyes don;t suit her hair it looks awkward. She was a good model though. America's next top model is a good show and it's interesting. But NZ's next top model isn't so interesting. The only good thing about cycle 1 is that the models got to go to LAS ANGELES!!!

the sooner this show is over the better....then it will be replaced with another stupid something

Jasmine   #110   05:32 pm Jun 05 2009

I agree with Kate #101! If you don't know what a MODEL is, don't watch! Most jobs have certain requirements, being tall and thin are generally two requirements for a model. Hosanna is too short and would'nt make it internationally. Ruby, while I loved her, was not the right size, which was stated by Nigel Barker, NEXT model management and the judges. It's about finding a MODEL, which clearly people don't seem to understand - it's not about finding "NZ's Next Top Kiwi Girl" or "NZ's Next Top FHM Girl".

Go Christobelle! She's the right age to start a modelling career, has a model face and body, and a great work ethic. Mature beyond her years, she has huge potential!

RUBY!If only she was still there!
