Kiwi actress Anna Paquin has promised there will be more nudity as the second season of True Blood kicks off in America.
Paquin plays waitress Sookie Stackhouse, who is in love with a vampire, in Alan Ball's hit HBO show. The second season began screening in America on Sunday night.
The first season has just finished screening on Prime in New Zealand, and the network promised the second season would air later this year.
Paquin, who won a best actress Golden Globe award earlier this year for her role on the show, said she had been working out at the gym more as there was increased nudity in the second season.
"I get more naked this season than I did last season," she told Eonline.com. "We have a really great crew and everyone's really respectful. It's not an issue for me."
"I work my ass off. I'm very careful about what I eat, and I work out a lot. My costume entails bathing suits, short-shorts and nude scenes.
"I don't want to be perpetuating the myth that women actually do look exactly like the way they look in magazines and on television through absolutely no effort!"
Paquin is dating her on-screen boyfriend Stephen Moyer, who plays vampire Bill Compton.

Why you want to see Jason's tackle. I bet he's hung like a tic tac
Yeah but have you noticed the EXTRAORDINARY lengths they go to to cover up Jason's (Ryan Kwanten)tackle in his "nude" scenes. He spends half his screen time in some state of undress yet somehow manages never to put the family jewels on display. Double standards???????
Has she filmed anything in New Zealand since the PIANO! Funny how every other kiwi who's cracked Hollywood has, and not her! She plays up her Canadian side, very really does she talk about NZ.
Soooo glad it's coming back, it's hot. Probably better even than BSG.
Thats 'BSG' Moo. And the Best Show On Telly Since BSG Award goes to The Big Bang Theory
:-)
Watched Episode 1 of Season 2 last night, did not disappoint. Lots of laughs, gross gore and lovely smutty bits, brilliant. Would prefer to see it on actual TV though, so hurry up Prime!
When does the 2nd season start in NZ?????
I thought this show was awesome!! I had no idea who the killer was so they did it pretty well!!
I thought Anna was born here... she lived in Maungaraki I think. I remember seeing her older brother at high school so I'm sure she lived here for a number of years....
