New Dr Who star Matt Smith will be joined by 10 of his Time Lord predecessors in a special charity edition of the science fiction show, it has been reported.
The episode will be the first to features Smith as the new Dr Who - the 11th reincarnation of the iconic Time Lord - and will feature cameos from all previous actors to play the character, both living and dead .
David Tennant, Christopher Eccleston, Tom Baker, Peter Davison and Sylvester McCoy are among those who will appear in the 15-minute charity episode, British tabloid The Daily Mail reported.
Archival footage would be used for the actors who have died since starring in the show.
"This is a momentous episode for all Dr Who fans. Never before have all the Doctors been in the same room, let alone in the same show," a source told the paper.
"It’s been a logistical nightmare getting all the actors together and available for shooting on the same days. But the script has already been started and it’s classic Dr Who - really witty and very sharp.
"Viewers will see the Time Lords regenerating and emerging one by one from the Tardis, each with their own quirky opening line.
"The actors who are no longer with us, William, Jon and Patrick, will make special cameo appearances, with footage from original shows being flashed up on screen. It’s a really exciting project - and all for a good cause."
A BBC spokesman confirmed there had been discussion of a Dr Who special but said: "It is too early to say what."
The episode will reportedly air in Britain in November as part of the BBC's Children In Need charity appeal.

Tennant actually knows NOTHING about this, so I wouldn't trust this.
This is a very wonderful idea, but it would be even better if a DVD could be made for us Dr. Who fans that are located in the United States and other area's that are not in Britain (England) to view this wonderful special.
A totally bizarre question sack the question writer immediately...lol
Ha ha Seth!
They should flash up a small video clip of 'Doctorin' the Tardis' on a screen or something!
I have just been reliably informed that this is a completely bogus rumour. The BBC informed the Daily Mail of this but they ran the story anyway (thanks Paul for the info).
Hmmm, here I was thinking that Christopher Eccleston didn't want anything more to do with Doctor Who. Also there is no mention of Doctors six and eight (Colin Baker & Paul McGann).
AWESOME!!! Can not wait to see this!! :o) Looking forward to DT's final too... great ensemble of characters gathering for that!
WOOHOO! Shame its only 15mins, a proper 1 hour 30 min special would have made it awesome. Throw in some Darleks and Cybermen and it'll go down in history as the best show ever.
I'd love to see this happen but after there was a similar story last year, I will have to see something more concrete before I get excited over this news.
