Sheriff killed off in Harper's Island

Another two characters have bitten the dust on Harper's Island as the series moves towards its conclusion.
Sheriff Charlie Mills, played by Jim Beaver and Maggie Krell, played by Beverley Elliot and two police officers were the latest characters to get killed off in the show.
Maggie meets her end when she wanders off on her own, believing that as a local, she won't be a target of the killer.
Sheriff Mills dies when he is dragged out of the window of the Candlewick Inn by a pulley system attached to his own truck, snapping his neck.
In an interview supplied to Stuff.co.nz, Jim Beaver, who played Mills said he found the way his character was killed off was 'cool'.
"It was a lot of work on the killer's part to set up my trap the way he did, I mean he/she could have just stuck an ice pick in the back of my neck. It's a little more fun to see the intricate and different ways that the bad guy can get rid of the good guy."
None of the actors on the show knew until the last minute if their character was the killer of not, something Beaver said he found challenging.
"On one hand, you're a potential victim and want to escape and save your life. On the other hand, if you're the killer you want to succeed with your awful plans. And you can't play both at the same time, yet that's what we were asked to do."
The killer, or killers, won't be revealed until Harper's Island's final episode in several weeks time.
Beaver has his own theory as to why the murders are taking place.
"I think everything seems to point to the Sheriff, Abby and her mother. The real question comes down to how many people are actually committing the murders and are they connected?"
Harper's Island screens on C4 every Monday night at 8.30pm. Stuff.co.nz will feature interviews with every actor as their characters die.

Loved the whole episode from the explosion at the dock to the body at the window and eventually the Sheriff's death. And it looks like Wakefield is alive after all. But with three episodes to go I'd put money on it not being that simple.
