A "bungled" meeting with All Black star Dan Carter saw New Zealand's Next Top Model's latest evictee, Amelia Gough, kicked into touch.
The All Black visited the Top Model house in Friday's episode to choose a girl to feature in a campaign for his new "For Everyone" brand.
While many of the girls in the house confessed to being star struck, 22-year-old Gough played it cool, prompting judge Sara Tetro to later say that she "bungled it ... bungled it big-time".
"My brother and my partner are both rugby players and they're friends with guys in the All Blacks and I'd met them before," Gough told Stuff.co.nz.
"I think Dan Carter is an amazing player and I'm a huge rugby fan but I didn't think I had to act like a teenager with Bieber-fever and jump all over him."
Gough said her relaxed attitude helped her to deal with the tension caused by living in a house with 13 other girls, some of whom are as young as 16.
"I'm real chilled out so at first some things did irritate me, but I took a deep breath and counted to 10, and realised that some of the girls have never lived away from home before.
"They don't mean to be messy or forgetful - they're just young. I really enjoyed the girls - they were awesome."
One thing that did manage to upset Gough on the show was when a man walked past her on a central Auckland street during a challenge and yelled the racist slur "send the Chinese home".
Gough, who is half-Japanese, said she tried not to let it bother her at the time.
"That happened really early on in the challenge. It didn't show on TV but I carried on doing the challenge and I was fine. On the show you have to be professional at all times, and I couldn't break down in tears."
She said she wasn't impressed with the judges' comments that she shouldn't have let the man upset her.
"I did carry on with the challenge. It's not like I stopped and burst into tears and walked off. That pissed me off a bit to be honest."
The model also disagreed with criticism from the judges throughout the show that she looked "hoochie" in many of her photos.
"I don't really care to be honest because I know I'm not. It was just how some of the photos came out looking. I don't really like the term 'hoochie', I'd prefer 'sexy' - that would be alright."
But Gough said she enjoyed the Top Model experience overall, particularly meeting the fellow contestants.
"I got along with all of them. There are definitely friendships there that will last a long time. I would never have met them in normal life."

Disregard females. Aquire currency.
When I first saw this article, I thought "no way should she have been sent home". She does have a real beauty beyond just being pretty, and the criticism of her reaction to the racial taunt was extremely unfair.
I would have expected better from Colin.
But I saw the repeat of the show last night. Based on her performance over that week, she absolutely deserved to be in the bottom two.
Don't forget this is not about the "best". It is a television show designed to entertain and to get viewers for the advertisers. Same as all the similar shows (where the public don't get to vote). Contestants are kept on if they make good television (and if the producers can get away with it). And what we see is only part of the whole.
Amelia is a beautiful woman, but her **performance** was poor. It was nowhere near as poor as Dakota's.
As for the criticism of the judges - Sara is actually a well known model agent, and well known in the fashion industry. Colin especially so. Just because **you** have never heard of them doesn't mean a heck of a lot. It does mean you don't run in NZ fashion circles.
The very fact you are all talking about it so much just goes to show that sometimes the popular ones get voted off just so people will talk about it, essentially free advertising.
They are far from dumb - they just are operating to a different scheme.
Amelia was hands-down the best-looking... haven't seen last week's episode, but you're telling me that she got kicked off and the (rather plain, it has to be said) Holly is still there??
Amelia is easily the most beautiful of any of the contestants. If only more Kiwi women looked like her.
Sara and Colin are utter nobodies, pretending to be industry big wigs. I think I saw Colin for 2 seconds on a Barocca commercial - wow impressive.
And how can you improve when the advice that you get from the so called experts is "you have to bring it" - err thanks guys REALLY helpful advice.
First of all, Amelia was clearly the Hottest model on the show. Secondly, I agree with everyone else that she did the classy thing and not go all gaga for DC. Her whole demeanor was pure Class! Thirdly, I loved her departing words (chase the dream not the competition). Yet another example of class! Finally, I only watched the show because of her lol
Amelia for NZs Hottest model woohoo!
Dan Carter is a rugby player? How does he have time to play rugby in between all his advertising campaigns and modelling shoots?
New Zealand's Next Top Model is the best comedy show on TV!
What? It is a comedy show?
Seriously, I say good on her for NOT acting like 13yo teenage girl giggling and drooling over Dan. I am a rugby fan, but you dont have to act like a complete idiot.
Me, I am not a Carter fan, I consider him one of the "Pretty Boy" club that are more concern about their looks then getting stuck in and playing footy. Smash your face in, and there goes all your Advertising contracts.........
Was it just me, or did Dan look like he had botox injections in his face???
Send Dakota home already, she needs to think before she speaks...
Sorry, but how can any one call any of the girls on the show models? Not only are they plain in looks and extremely immature in personality (crying in every episode for the media etc), none of them know how to pose properly. Amelia got voted off because she was too big for the competition. Obvious!! look in a fashion magazine for proper fashion models. She is beautiful, yes. But not a proper models body. Im speaking from 10 years experience in the fashion model industry. I think I know what Im on about. The skinniest, most positive model will win. Also, the one who causes thye most drama in a positive way and can appeal to the public will have a better chance. But not over the top!

Amelia was THE prettiest girl in the competition by a mile. And with personality and class. NZNTM has just successfully sent home the wrong person 2 weeks in a row. Theres no point watching now. The judges made a big mistake.
