Shortland Street star Ido Drent, who plays the role of Daniel Potts, has been discharged from Palmerston North Hospital this morning after being cleared of a suspected case of meningitis.
Drent is currently in the second day of the Many Miles for Mary relay run from Wellington to Auckland.
He pulled out of his planned leg of the run through Manawatu this morning and was taken to hospital.
Relay organiser Jamie Milne said Drent had entered into the race with a virus, and was taken to the accident and emergency room as a precaution.
"Ido is doing really well, he believes in the cause really strongly," Mr Milne said. "He has a lot of dedication. He joined us when he probably shouldn't have."
Mr Milne said the TV star would "definitely" continue on with the race, which has remained on schedule.
"A few of his team mates took up the slack this morning."
