They've remade Beverly Hills 90210 - now television executives are considering remodelling mid-90s drama show Melrose Place.

The show, which screened from 1992 to 1999 as a spin-off from 90210, turned actors like Heather Locklear, Andrew Shue and Courtney Thorne-Smith into household names.

It also starred Desperate Housewives' Marcia Cross.

Studio CBS Paramount Network Television confirmed they are considering putting a remake into development for the 2009-10 TV season.

A remake of 90210, featuring guest spots from some of the show's original actors, has proved to be a minor success.

I'd watch it just for a laugh - it's cringeworthy seeing Shannen Doherty and that other bint on 90210, re-hashing the same old story lines. All telly is pretty rubbish these days - reality shows with people all competing for their 15 minutes of fame or z-list 'celebrities' participating in some dancing show in an attempt to re-ignite interest from the dozen people who actually heard of them at the height of their 'fame'..

yes i love melrose place it was the best tv drama soap in the 90's. Why not bring it back and get new characters to replace the old ones from the 90's, and nobody is great like heather locklear and marcia cross. Please bring back this awesome soap. im sure everyone agrees

Well it's good to know that Television is facing the same problems as Movies...That is not being able to come up with original stuff or they have no creativity left that they have to resort to remakes. Seriously, arent there any creative people left in the world entertainment. I agree...we have too many reality shows, but at least they are trying to come up with something

At this rate they'll be remaking shows before they're even finished.
