Media organisations around the world are working together to cover climate change more effectively.

Stuff.co.nz has joined 24 other media organisations from around the world in a network that will share climate change stories in the lead-up to a United Nations summit in Paris in December.

The 25 founding partners of the Climate Publishing Network were brought together by The Guardian, El Pais and the Global Editors Network.

More publishers are being asked to join the syndicate which aims to give members a wider selection of climate change articles to choose from and a larger audience.

Stuff.co.nz has joined a network of 25 media organisations from around the world to create a network for sharing climate change stories.

"Climate change is a topic many news organisations around the world would like to cover more frequently, but don't have the resources for," the Global Editors Network said in a statement on Friday.

The founding partners represented a variety of political leanings, and included China Daily, Politiken in Denmark, Al Ahram in Egypt and Clarín in Argentina.

The initiative will end on December 11, the last day of the UN's COP 21 climate change summit.
