The Sea Shepherd ship Bob Barker has docked in Wellington, marking an end to this season's anti-whaling campaign.
Less than a quarter of the Japanese whale kill quota was met due to their efforts this season, according to the activist group.
The ship has spent 90 days in the Southern Ocean for Operation Relentless, the longest campaign in its 10-year history.
This season Japanese whalers had hoped to catch up to 935 Minke whales, 50 Fin whales, and 50 Humpback whales for what they claim is scientific research.
