Penelope Cruz sought expert help to make her look tanned at the Golden Globes.
The Spanish beauty had just returned from a trip abroad shortly before the star-studded awards ceremony last Sunday and begged her make-up artist Scott Barnes - who recently released beauty book About Face - to help recreate her holiday glow.
He told People magazine: "She had just come back from her vacation. And she said, 'I want to be tanned. I want this eye.' She found it in my book, it was Irina, the sexy Russian model who does the Guess! Jeans ads.
"And Penelope had remembered a magazine cover I did with Uma Thurman. Uma was really tanned and she wanted to look really tanned, because she had just come back from vacation."
While her skin tone was glowing, Penelope wanted her brunette locks to match and opted for soft "movie star glamour" curls.
Hair stylist Oribe said: "I just tried to wave her hair. She wanted to wear it down for the Armani dress. It was just movie star glamour. Wavy, but not too wavy. Just stylised nicely. We did it at her home. Real casual and easy and we got her ready probably in an hour and a half, nails and everything done.
"She's amazing, just a regular girl. Scott brought his book, showed her what he wanted to do. She loved it. It just went very smoothly. Beautiful eye, natural skin, it was a different makeup for her... really special.
"It made her look really fresh."
