The children of St Paul's church in Auckland are warming hearts around the world with their video version of the Christmas story.

The video, posted on YouTube on December 12, features the children dressed as the nativity characters, including the animals in the story, and is narrated by the kids too.

They use their own words to tell how Mary found she was pregnant with Jesus and travelled to Bethlehem to have the baby.

"And she was like 'oh my gosh I'm going to have the son of God'"

"And then she was like 'no I can't, I'm not married and stuff.'"

Since it was put online the video has had more than 115,000 views. It runs for just under four minutes.
