Trust: Conchords have it, politicians don't

Renegade politician Hone Harawira is at the bottom of a poll of trusted New Zealanders, and the Flight of the Conchords near the top.
The former Maori Party MP, looking to regain his Te Tai Tokerau seat under his Mana Party banner, is dead last in the Reader's Digest New Zealand's 100 most trusted people survey.
He is joined by MPs from across the political spectrum in the bottom 10, along with broadcasters Paul Henry and Paul Holmes.
The Flight of the Conchords duo, Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement, enter the top 10 for the first time, at sixth and eighth place respectively. Last year they were 55th and 53rd.
Their rise comes as Sir Peter Jackson falls from sixth-equal last year to 74th place, and All Black captain Richie McCaw fell from 11th to 55th.

I gave up trying to make sense of your comment after about 32 seconds.
It must of been the "anti-Hone campaign" part. Sounds like something Hone would call this. Seeing as Hone likes to make it all about him. Must of also been the part where you spelt the name of our country wrong.
Hone has done a lot for Maori rights you say? Can I have some examples please? Valid ones, ones that matter. Hone only cares for Maori, sadly there's more than just Maori's in New Zealander. BUT it is his objective to make Maori more important than all other New Zealanders even though we should ALL be equals as New Zealanders.
M3N78L is right - how can you trust a poll that comes from an organisation that sends out random, usually unaddressed mail that proclaims "you are already a winner" and then goes on to tell you more about the other pizes you can win rather than what they are actually selling. 101 - Readers Digest
What was gender mix of the list? Few women are trusted and fewer mistrusted apparently . . . or is public life back to 90% male in nz?
Hone is honest to the point of distraction. He is a rough diamond with a jewel-like inner self only the people who know his philosophy on people whether they be Maori, Pakeha, Asian etc... He cares about people. This poll is stacked but then Hone's used to anti-Hone campaigns. He has spoken up for Maori rights for all New Zelanders rights and will win this weekend. Love and peace
What kind of single celled organisms were polled to get results like that? Grey District mayor at number 10 - a man unknown by name or sight to at least 85% of the population I should imagine.
Certainly I would never trust a Harawere clan member.
Jerry Mataperae would top my list but on the whole in 10 years of living here I have not found NZ'ers to be the most trustworthy people to do business with, I must say. Far too many sharp practices that would be frowned on elsewhere - it is like the wild west doing business here. At least the corruption is up front and obvious in other places!
How the hell did Hone Harawira get so many votes? He's the slimiest of them all!
It's apparent that while many of us don't necessarily like Hone Harawira, we at least trust him because we at least know what he's thinking. As blunt (and as seemingly "racist" he may seem at times), he calls a spade a spade and he's not lying through his teeth like other politicians. And for those reasons, I trust him more than the lot in this NZ Stuff poll.
i seems Hone Harawira has made a huge gain in this poll in the last few hours, strangely that makes me trust him even less.
Hmmm, wonder who was surveyed to get this poll? Cause when I voted for Hone Harawira, the Online Poll results showed he had 39.9% of the votes and by far was leading all the other candidates, not insignificant considering there were about 18,000 people who took the time to vote! so to all you shallow thinkers (voters) don't be afraid to go out into the deep ...
