Coming out of the closet to a family member can be one of the hardest things for a gay, bisexual or transgender teen to do. Some people spend years worrying about what the reaction will be - but, wonderfully, for YouTube user Ryan, the reaction to his news was a lovely hug from his TV-watching mum.
The teenage YouTuber said he chose to film such a personal moment in the hope it would ease the stress for other teens wanting to come out around the world, the video has had 63,000 views since it was posted in October:
"I made this video because when I was contemplating coming out for the last year, I found other similar videos of people coming out to family members on a hidden camera really helpful," Ryan notes in the video description. "I noticed that there weren't very many of these videos, so I wanted to create my own to help other people in the same way... My mom reacted in an amazing way, and I really hope that all of you have a similar experience."
Team Life & Style sobbed their way through this gorgeous moment between a mother and son (in fact, the eyes have stayed misty for a good 20 minutes), and let's hope that it helps even just one young LGBT teen to realise that they have nothing to hide.
