I'm in love, with a deodorant. I'm in love because I've been hunting for a natural deodorant for years that does the job and smells good, and now I've found it.
Newly launched DeoDry from The Body Shop is what it says on the label - a dry-effect deodorant. It doesn't contain aluminum salts - tick.
It smells fresh in a good way - tick. And it works - tick. I've tested it out at the gym; and also on a 12-hour flight to LA. I don't know what it is about long-haul flying that makes you sweat.
The range comes in three different fragrances - Cool & Zesty, Chilled & Breezy, and Fresh & Floral in a roll-on, $20, and a stick, $20.
The one I'm using is Cool & Zesty roll-on. It's definitely cool on application, and the fragrance is cool and fresh.
It has a unisex citrus fragrance and features lemon and thyme essential oils. Whenever I roll it on I feel like I'm in a television commercial on a mountain beside a waterfall, tossing my hair in slow motion as I revel in the scent.
What is also super cool about DeoDry is that it doesn't contain parabens. Instead it's powered by natural volcanic minerals.
It also contains skin-caring organic aloe vera sourced from Guatemala through the Community Trade programme, which means it's gentle on the skin and doing good things for other people too.
You can also buy a roll-on refill for $15; and it doesn't leave marks on your clothes. Did I mention I was in love?
I haven't tried the other fragrances but The Body Shop tells me Chilled & Breezy is more woody masculine, and Fresh & Floral more feminine with rose and camomile.
According to The Body Shop they've been tested by expert "sweat sniffers" and a panel of consumers. Mmm.
