Renee Zellweger's face has changed
Renee Zellwegger's appearance at the Elle Women in Hollywood awards on Monday night (US time) has sparked a flurry of questions ... about her face.
The 45-year-old Oscar winner has lived life away from the public eye for almost half a decade (her last film coming out in 2010).
In her latest red carpet appearance she has the same sparkling baby blue eyes as she's always had, but the rest of her face seems, well, just different.
Yes, people change as they age, but as Salon.com poses, "Renee Zellweger's face is the elephant in the room".
Adding: "To comment on the dramatic change seems cruel, while to not comment on it would seem an act of absurd denial."
The Daily Mail has gone for a less subtle approach, their archetypally-long headline reading: "What HAS Renee Zellweger done to her face? Bridget actress looks utterly unrecognisable as she steps out with her boyfriend in LA".
The Mail's cosmetic surgery expert Dr Alex Karidis says that Renee may have had an upper eye lift, as well as less invasive work: "Her forehead is smooth - you would expect more expressive wrinkles when she smiles which indicates a possible small dose of Botox between the eyelid and eye."
- Do you see a stark change in Renee's appearance? Or think this is a fuss over nothing?
