BUFF UP
A season of being layered with coats, jumpers, jeans and stockings can often mean your skin is dry and aching for some sloughing.

Visit your local beauty spa for a full body exfoliation or invest in an at-home sugar or salt scrub to give your body some TLC.

Doing this will not only boost circulation, but will also reveal a smoother, silkier layer of skin and works wonders for your self-tanning products.

GET FUZZ-FREE
There are a few places on the body that get neglected in winter and if you plan on baring your legs and wearing swimwear then hair removal may be in order.

Shaving is always the quick and easy fix to removing unwanted hair, but for longer-lasting results, why not look into waxing, which gives you up to six weeks of smooth. For permanent results, look into laser hair removal which can banish unwanted hair forever.

PREPARE FOR LESS MAKEUP
In days gone by, I would often shy away from swimming for the pure aspect of vanity – I didn't want my brow powder and mascara to run.

Nowadays, this is barely a concern thanks to lash tinting and my newly tattooed brows.

If you are a slave to the mascara wand and brow gel like me, you'll understand. Take the time to research brow tattooing to see if it's the right choice.

Filling in your brows to add definition and colour will become a thing of the past and diving into that crisp blue water never felt so good.

TOOTSIE TLC
Get those warm, fluffy socks off and dare to bare your toes, which haven't seen the sun in a while.

You are may be in need for a pedicure and your new strappy heels will look so much better with cute coloured toenails. Pop along to your favourite spa and treat yourself to some pampering.

Choosing a gel polish will give you more mileage throughout summer, or if you fancy doing your toes at home, choose one of the DIY gel kits which will promise great results.
