Alice Herald makes stunning bespoke pieces of jewellery for her clients. She took the time to share her beauty words of wisdom with us.

I keep it natural for moisturisers. I'm an Aesop girl – their products are so natural and smell incredible.

I love facials – The "Skin nutrition facial infusion" from Soak Day Spa in Wanaka is fantastic for repairing and anti-ageing against the harsh climate we have down here. The hydrating serums are massaged in leaving my skin glowing.

My secret to good skin is internal health and well being. I make sure my family and I eat a clean food diet and drink my two litres of water a day. I exercise in the hills and love to practice yoga nidra a few times a week to calm my busy mind!

I loved watching my mum doing herself up for parties and the different smells and colours. I now see my girls doing the same and they love a bit of sparkle and lippy!

Favourite mascara is Smashbox Full Exposure and favourite eye shadow is a Smashbox one for its iridescent colour blend and nature.

Just a few of Alice's favourites when it comes to beauty.

I always have mascara, perfume and Lucas Pawpaw in my handbag.

I only wear makeup on the weekend if I'm going out. I think it's good to rest the skin.

In terms of my hair, there's not much time in the mornings with kids and work so I just have a sea salt spray which seems to arrange my hair well!

I see Bidi from Chocolatt in Wanaka for my hair - she always understands what I'm after.

I get Shellac manicures. I love Rubble and Midnight Swim.

I love my Narciso by Narciso Rodriguez

My fragrance memories take me back to that time in my life. Issey Miyake and Anais Anais for late teens, Calvin Klein and Michael Kors for my twenties. Narciso and Chloe for my thirties. I will always love Chanel no.5 as it's my mum's one.

Body products are Jo Malone all the way.

My bath ritual is always Jo Malone and a glass of pinot!

I treat myself with time. An indulgence. This may be a hike up a mountain, a bath, a day in the kitchen cooking up a storm for friends and family. These all make me happy which creates beauty.

My beauty philosophy is balance and clarity.

When I travel I make sure I drink water and lots of it.

When I travel, I always seek out Bobbi Brown and Smashbox.

In terms of an icon, I believe beauty is multi-faceted. I love Stella McCartney for being natural and stylish and always true to herself. She creates awareness through her brand for sustainability and Breast Cancer.

I can't live without Bobbi Brown eyeliner.

When I need a quick beauty fix I get an eyebrow tidy, lash tint and lip gloss with a spray of perfume and I'm done!
