Midwife leaves hair salon in foils to deliver a baby

Here's hoping that bleach didn't do her hair any harm after it stopped developing.

If this is the new standard for being dedicated to your work, we're all about to get fired.

One midwife in Kentucky, United States, was called to a birth while she was in the middle of a hair appointment. Carrie Hall left the salon with foils in her hair and delivered a healthy baby.

She shared a photo with Frontier Nursing University, where she did her training, and they posted it to Facebook.

"1st time for everything! Thought I'd share! I was at the salon and nature called," the caption read.

Hall looks thrilled, and we're loving the extremely out-of-context situation with her hair. One of the top comments echoed our first thoughts.

"I wonder if she has any bleach in those foils - and if so - someone needs to wash it out! I wonder if her blondes are now hydrolyzed!" wrote Randi May.

In response, Hall posted a photo of her hair looking healthy and plush. Clearly she didn't come to any harm.

The story has been reported by Stylist and AOL, but it was CafeMom Hall spoke to directly.

"It was just an ordinary day on call when I thought I'd chance a hair appointment for a colour," she told the site.

"I called prior to going to my appointment and there was a patient in labor but she wasn't progressing rapidly. My hair dresser, Demaris, had just finished foiling my hair when the nurses called and said the patient was ready to deliver."

"The local hospital was five minutes away so... foils and all.... I went to catch a baby! The patient was ready to push when I arrived! Luckily, the patient delivered within 20 minutes."

Some commenters on the university's page question Hall's priorities, saying that on call means on call, not at the salon.

However, we're thinking that a healthy mum and baby are the main things here.
