In my beauty bag: PR expert Luci Marshall
Luci Marshall is PR and Sponsorship Manager for Skin Health Experts (S.H.E).
I am lucky with job as have access to amazing Dermalogica skincare, which I use exclusively. In the morning I cleanse, tone, moisturise, not forgetting my eye cream. If I'm tired and have puffy eyes, I apply the Stress Positive Eye Lift before my eye cream and leave it on while I do my hair. I then wipe off any residue before finishing off my regimen.
In the evening I double-cleanse. Every second night I will also exfoliate, toner and then start to apply my retinols.
For sunscreen I use Dermalogica's Protection Sport SPF50. This is an amazing product, it feels super light on your skin and can go on your face and body. Because it's so versatile and offers such great, long-lasting protection, I use it on the whole family. In summer we reapply at least twice a day.
I absolutely love skin treatments – I have them as often as I can which sadly, isn't enough as life is so busy! When I can get in to see our amazing Head of Education, Caroline Parker, I do, but when Caroline is busy I go and see the girls at Bare Waxing & Skin Centre – Gemma at the Belmont branch is incredible, it's hard to stay awake.
My secret to good skin is to use products that are specific to your skins requirements, we all have such different things going in our worlds, such as stress, hormones, age and environment, it's crazy to think there's a one-size fits all skin plan for everyone. Go and see a professional skin therapist to have a face map (form of skin analysis) to find out what products you should be using. You can always buy them one product at a time if budget is an issue.
I wear a primer every day, then I'll wear a tinted moisturiser or CC cream as opposed to a foundation. I'm just trying out Smashbox's CC cream at the moment, and I love it. I've always been into eyes as I'm so fair, I have to wear mascara and tint or fill in my eyebrows, and if I have time I'll also add eyeliner – if I don't I look half asleep. I will always have eyeshadow on, even if it's just a natural colour to even out my skin tone.
My handbag is a real cocktail as I'm afraid I'm often applying makeup in the car on the way to work – there's my Blinc mascara and lash primer, Billion Dollar Brows brows On Point pencil, MAC lipsticks and Smashbox O-Gloss.
On weekends it's more minimal – often just the Dermalogica SkinPerfect Primer, mascara, brow powder and a little bronzer.
I see my hairdresser every six to seven weeks to have foils done, and I blow-dry my hair straight every two days, so it has a tough life! My amazing hairdresser has started doing Olaplex treatments on me when I see her, after nearly a year the difference is incredible, it's so much stronger and even looks healthier. I love Redken products.
My amazing friend Nathalie Jensen has been an award-winning senior stylist around the world, and I'm now I'm one of her lucky home clients.
My hair is high maintenance! I have foils done regularly to lighten it and it gets straightened every second day. I use Redken Blonde Idol Shampoo and Conditioner and Redken Frizz dismiss oil.
My hairdryer recently blew up so I've splashed out on a new Parlux hairdryer, it's so light-weight and powerful, it's amazing. I also use my GHD straightens from time to time, although usually to curl my hair rather than straighten it.
When I first went back to work from maternity leave I started having gel manicures done regularly, although after three months my nails couldn't handle any more - they became very thin and bendy, and haven't really recovered. So now I just do my own and will apply a couple of coats of nail polish for special occasions.
In terms of colour, I always seem to end up with a coral pink.
Nail art? I love it on other people but haven't gone there (yet).
FRAGRANCE & BODY
I wear a combination of Curionoir parfums. Opia and Purotu Rose are my favourites, they are unique and beautiful. People often comment on the scents.
In the past, I wore Victor & Rolf Flowerbomb, Michael Kors, Flower by Kenzo.
A skin treatment is my ultimate indulgence, if I don't have time for a full hour, I'll have an express treatment.
My philosophy is to enhance your natural assets through great skin care, well-maintained hair and natural makeup.
With travel, my tips would be to ensure you remain hydrated by drinking lots of water (or splash out on 1Above water) and keep your skin hydrated by spritzing on a face mist.
When it comes to buying beauty, I follow lots of blogs, read heaps of magazines and love going into the likes of Mecca, MAC and Smashbox to try out new things.
Mascara or moisturiser, I really can't decide which one I can't live without more.
My best quick beauty fix is to sleep with a face mask on.
My beauty mistake from the past would have to be dying my hair dark brown, I looked so pale!
I hate seeing over-plucked eyebrows
If I could wave a magic wand, I would have to say I wished I'd started using retinol earlier, not drank water from a straw (as it turns out it's one of the causes of lip lines), not picked and plucked – it's a bit of a habit!
I wish someone would invent permanent hair removal for fair hair (that doesn't cost the earth).
