He turned a blind eye to her writhing in the sand with male model Mark Vanderloo for 19 years, and now Ed Burns finally gets to make an honest woman of his wife, Christy Turlington.
Turlington and Vanderloo famously starred as the perfect married couple in Calvin Klein's iconic Eternity ads, and the intimate Peter Lindbergh-shot campaign from 1995 proved so timeless that it has just been re-released (tagline: time can't touch us).
But there's also a new shoot that's surely set to steal the original's thunder, with Turlington's real-life spouse of 11 years Ed Burns signed on to replace Vanderloo in the role of devoted husband.
Top photographers Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matatin shot the new campaign featuring the couple who have two children together on the beaches of Turks & Caicos. The ad campaign also ties in with a new global philanthropic initiative, The Eternity Project, an umbrella organisation that supports various charities (the first of which will be Turlington Burns' Every Mother Counts, which works to make pregnancy and childbirth safe for women around the world).
Here's an old TV ad for the perfume with yet another fake husband ...
