From the 'kids, do not try this at home' file comes a confession from singer Taylor Swift, who has revealed she once used permanent marker pen as eyeliner while on board a flight.

As the face of CoverGirl cosmetics, Swift was quick to advise against following suit.

"I once used a Sharpie as eyeliner in an airplane bathroom because I didn't have any with me. I don't recommend it," she said.

Unconventional eyeliner aside, Swift has undergone a style transformation in the last year that has seen her evolve from a pretty blonde country star to an international fashion icon.

The 22-year-old has graced the cover of fashion magazine Vogue and is admired for her striking looks.

"I really like changing my look around. My hair and make-up really determine how I look", she told www.refinery29.com.

"I love red lips and a cat-eye", she said. "That's been my go to for a few years now."
