A 25-year-old Venezuelan who appears on TV in her country and is an accomplished flamenco dancer is the new Miss Universe.
Gabriela Isler was crowned the winner on Saturday night in the pageant at a sprawling exhibition hall on Moscow's outskirts.
In the excitement just after the announcement, the tiara fell off Isler's head as she was being crowned and she caught it laughing.
The panel of judges was led by American rock musician Steven Tyler (and he is qualified, how? We'd rather have seen Mama June on the panel).
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro congratulated Isler on Twitter, calling her title a "triumph" for Venezuela, a country that has now won three of the last six Miss Universe pageants.
Miss New Zealand, Holly Michelle Cassidy, didn't place in the finals: Patricia Rodrigues of Spain was the runner-up; Constanza Baez from Ecuador was the second runner up; while Miss Philippines and Miss Brazil came in fourth and fifth.
A COMPETITION HIGHLIGHT
While Venezuela was crowned Miss Universe, Erin Brady, or Miss USA in our opinion won the week by dressing up as Optimus Prime in the national dress competition.
Erm ... pretty sure Opt isn't American ... he's not human:
